چکیده

In the radiological department, computed tomography (CT) scan process has become a greater radiation dosage that contributes to all medical X-ray treatments. Many studies throughout world have found CT accounts for just 5% of operations conducted yet 34% yearly exposures in Similarly, other 17% worldwide but 49% total doses Because diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) are one ways optimizing dose procedure, goal this review is provide DRLs adults who undergo chest and abdomen examinations northern India, based on research region comparing with international values see if better optimization protocol being practiced. 18.35mGy index volume (CTDIvol) 765 mGy.cm length product (DLP), according review, while 18.25 mGy 1870.75 CTDI (vol) DLP, respectively. As result, examined had than compared, exception International Commission Radiological Protection 2007 publications. technology desperate need an update. region, methods, including exposure technical parameter selection, should reduce fluctuations.

A local study on diagnostic reference levels estimation for children computed tomography

Introduction: The Diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) play a critical role in the optimization of radiation dose especially, in some conditions like pediatrics. They are useful indicators by which the radiologists can be aware of delivered excess radiation doses to the patients, and take corrective actions if necessary. In order to meet some requirements for establishing the nat...

Local Diagnostic Reference Levels for Common Computed Tomography Procedures at a Tertiary Hospital in South Africa

Introduction: An operational computed tomography (CT) scanner is a major source of human exposure to ionizing radiation. Exposure increases the risk of cancer and aplastic anaemia. All radiation exposures should be justified and optimized to meet the clinical objective. In order to avoid the administration of excessive radiation dose to patients, diagnostic reference l...

Diagnostic Reference Levels for Computed Tomography Examinations in Iran: A Nationwide Radiation Dose Survey

Introduction: International Commission on Radiological Protection introduced three basic principles of radiation protection, namely justification, optimization, and dose limit. Medical exposure has no dose limits, and generally, diagnostic reference levels are used as a tool for optimization of patient protection. Material and Methods: Dosimetry was performed on 20 CT scanners located in 14 cit...

High-resolution spiral computed tomography coronary angiography in patients referred for diagnostic conventional coronary angiography.

BACKGROUND The diagnostic performance of the latest 64-slice CT scanner, with increased temporal (165 ms) and spatial (0.4 mm3) resolution, to detect significant stenoses in the clinically relevant coronary tree is unknown. METHODS AND RESULTS We studied 52 patients (34 men; mean age, 59.6+/-12.1 years) with atypical chest pain, stable or unstable angina pectoris, or non-ST-segment elevation ...
